Triticale green mass yield reaches 60–90 t ha-1 depending on genotype, preceding crop and cultivation technology. Triticale resistance makes fungicide treatment against leaf diseases unnecessary. Optimal seeding dates and rates also help to avoid herbicide application. Triticale regrows fast and produces up to three cuts of green mass under sufficient water content. After the first cut grain yield reaches up to 3 t ha-1. Using triticale in a green conveyor doubles green mass amount and increases protein yield from square unit, compared to winter wheat. It reduces costs of animal products, increases production net income and payback. Feeding dairy cows with triticale improves milk yield by 12–14%, milk fat content — by 0.2–0.3%, and weight gain — by 15–17%, compared to wheat and barley. Stable green conveyor requires substitution of winter wheat with winter triticale. Mixtures of triticale with winter vetch, pea or rapeseed show good balance in protein and essential amino acids. They are good as green feed, silage, haylage, granules and wafers. Triticale exceeds wheat and rye in exchange energy by 14% and 23%, respectively. Mixtures of barley and triticale (50:50) are economically efficient when feeding cattle, store pigs, poultry and fish.
