• • • Fodder production in various environmental zones of the Republic of Khakassia: development and influence on other agricultural spheres

Khakassia has various climate conditions, determining specific characteristics in forage production in different environmental zones. The great part of revenue of agricultural products (73.1%) occurred in 2015 due to animal product sales. To evaluate changes, happened in crop production in various zones, the investigation compared mean values of fields, gross yields and productivity of gramineous and forage crops for the entire cycle of high and low humidity, typical for the south of the Central Siberia. In 2011–2015 Khakassian total field area did not grow, compared to 2000–2005. Gramineous area rose in steppe and forest-steppe by 1.4 times, lands with forage crops — by 1.2. Gross yield of gramineous and forage crops grew in total as well as in steppe and forest steppe by 2011–2015. Yield increase of gramineous occurred by 2011–2015, including oats — in all the zones. Forage crop productivity was low in all the humidity periods. Various arid regions showed increase in cattle and horses. Number of sheep reduced in steppe and forest steppe by 3.0–12.4%, compared to 2000–2005, as well as poultry — in dry steppe and steppe. Pedigree dairy cattle made up 39%. The data showed positive changes in Khakassian agriculture.
