• • • Hulless barley productivity under foliar application of micronutrients in the forest-steppe of Middle Volga region
Hulless barley (Hordeum sativum var. nudum (L.) Hook.f.) is a promising food and feed crop. In 2014–2016, field researches were carried out on the productivity of the hulless barley variety ‘Omskiy golozerny 1’. Influence of foliar application with “Azosol 36 Extra”, “Megamix–Azot”, and “Megamix–Profi” was measured in different stages of plant development: tillering; heading; tillering and heading. The data were on photosynthetic activity of agrocenoses, structure, productivity and quality of the barley variety ‘Omskiy golozerny 1’. Studied micronutrients increased the leaf-area duration of barley by 3.9–12.1%. The highest were marked under the double foliar fertilizing during tillering and heading. On three-year average, the yield of barley grain was 3.75–4.26 t ha-1 in the variants of research, in the control — 2.98 t ha-1. Feed barley grain should be characterized by high protein content, so it is necessary to provide high nitrogen plant nutrition. The protein content increased by 2.2–2.5% relatively to the control. The double foliar fertilizing during tillering and heading with the preparation “Azosol 36 Extra” provided the maximum yield (4.26 t ha-1). The double fertilizing with preparations “Megamix–Azot”, and “Megamix–Profi” during tillering and heading of barley provided almost the same yield — 4.08 and 4.15 t ha-1, respectively.
