• • • Haylage and silage quality of different crop
The aim was to analyze chemical composition of haylage and silage, obtained from two farms in the Bryansk region. The experiment took place in 2016. 7 samples of silage and 12 samples of haylage were tested. Samples were collected from different places of a clamp at the depth of 0.5 m. The experiment determined chemical composition of forage samples and analyzed main parameters of fodder nutritional value. Haylage, prepared from perennial grasses, contained 48% of dry matter (DM) and 4.1% of crude protein on the average. Haylage of alfalfa and gramineous showed 48.7% of DM and 8.1% of crude protein. Triticale haylage had 49.3% of DM and 5.1% of crude protein. Haylage of annual crops contained 48.5% of DM and 8.1% of crude protein. Content of exchange energy in 1 kg of haylage, made from perennial grasses, made up 3.6 MJ, alfalfa mixture with gramineous — 4.2 MJ, triticale — 3.7 MJ and annual grasses — 4.1 MJ. Values of exchange energy in haylage and silage met the Standard for cattle feeding.
