• • • Productivity of pea-oats mixture as influences by mineral nutrition on meadow-chernozem in Eastern Trans-Baikal

Oats mixtures for green fodder are highly valuable in Eastern Trans-Baikal. Oats is widely spread due to its good adaptability to cultivation area. Sowing pea-oats mixtures in the end of crop rotations is related to mixture good soil adaptability, rapid rate of initial growth, high leaf coverage, good response to fertilizers and weed resistance. Pea-oats mixtures were cultivated on deep-freezing meadow-chernozem under various fertilization rates (no fertilizers; N30; N30Р15; N60; N60Р30). The research observed correlation between mixture productivity, nutritional value and energy-economic efficiency, affected by N and NP rates.

Increasing main nutrient content in soil improved raw mass productivity by 3.4–5.7 t ha-1 (control — 46.5 t ha-1), dry matter yield — by 0.52–0.98 t ha-1 (control — 3.85 t ha-1), feed units — by 0.37–0.69 t ha-1 (control — 2.9 t ha-1), digestible protein — by 0.080–0.136 t ha-1 (control — 0.340 t ha-1). Raising rates of mineral fertilization resulted in gross energy increase from 54.7 to 67.0 GJ ha-1, while energy index dropped from 5.0 to 4.4 units. Unfertilized background obtained the lowest growth of gross energy of 54.7 GJ ha-1; energy index being 5 units. Increased rates of mineral nutrition decreased payback of 1 kg of fertilizers from 12.3 to 6.2 feed units.
