Experiment took place on the trial field of the All-Russian Research Institute of Meliorated Lands, located in south-east of the Tver region. It analyzed feed, protein and energy yields of three-component grass mixtures. Grass mixtures included varieties of read clover “Mars”, “Dymkovskiy”, “Vityaz”; bastard clover “Yygeva” and bastard alfalfa “Nakhodka”. Gramineous performed as the third component of grass mixtures: common timothy “VIK 9”, meadow fescue “Sakharovskaya”, cocksfoot “Khlynovskaya” and festulolium “VIK 90”. Grass mixtures provided high yield of feed unit for four years — 4.6–7.5. Exchange energy content made up 10.4 MJ ha-1.  Paper presents main dates for sward cutting and feed productivity of legume-gramineous swards. Increasing legume proportion in mixtures by including bastard alfalfa “Nakhodka” had a potential for improving their productive longevity. Two legume species, combined with gramineous, satisfied their requirement in nitrogen, improved feed value and fermentation processes in silage. Silage had high content of organic matter. Organic matter content in bastard alfalfa “Nachodka” amounted to 96.7 % of dry matter, being 93.7 % in legume-gramineous mixture. All silage variants had required concentration of lactic (75–87 %) and acetic acids (12–21 %).
