• • • Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Participated in the Working Meeting between Minister of Agriculture of Russia and Director General of the OIE
The Working Meeting between Dmitry Patrushev, Minister of Agriculture, and Dr. Monique Eloit, Director General of the OIE, took place in the OIE headquarters in Paris on February 7. Sergey Dankvert, Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, took part in the meeting. During the meeting the parties discussed epidemic situation in Russia, participation of the country in the OIE international projects and other aspects of cooperation.
One of the key issues discussed during the meeting was the RF status of a country with the FMD free zone without vaccination. It was underlined that Russia has been doing a lot to regain the status: requirements for FMD were harmonized with the requirements of the OIE Terrestrial Code – the MOA Decree on confirmation of new veterinary rules for this disease was issued. Besides, in the present time the Bureau is reviewing Russia’s application for obtaining an official international status of a country with BSE controlled risk.
The parties also discussed the prospects of cooperation between the OIE and Russian relevant organizations, in particular with the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate Federal Centre for Animal Health (ARRIAH) and All Russian Centre for Quality and Standardization of Veterinary Drugs and Feed (VGNKI).
