All the Early Stage Researchers (ESRs), their supervisors, partner organisations and external board advisors involved in the EIPIN Innovation Society, an EU-funded Horizon 2020 research project, met on March 12, 2019 in Brussels for the mid-term review by the European Commission.

Together with other 14 associations, ESA is proudly a partner organisation of the project looking at the role of intellectual property in innovation. The primary objective is to provide political leaders and stakeholders recommendations in the form of IP research on how to deal with innovation.

  • The early Stage Researcher who has been performed his secondment in ESA premises, Jared Onsando, focuses in his thesis on ‘The Future of Plant Breeding and the Dynamic Landscape in Patent and Plant Breeders’ Protection’. During the meeting hold in Brussels this week, Jared has presented his main research questions and very insightful first results achieved.

The involvement of industry associations representing numerous undertakings provides great access to non-academic actors. The ESR positions cover all domains of sciences, providing a solid foundation for cross-cutting research in the area of innovation policies, while overcoming a traditional separation of disciplines.
