ALKALOID-FREE LUPINE “DEGA” IN COW FEEDING

ALKALOID-FREE LUPINE “DEGA” IN COW FEEDING
The paper presents the lupine chemical composition and feed-stuff effect on cow milk productivity and blood biochemistry; feed-stuffs having the same energy and protein content. The diets included grains of white lupine “Dega” (18, 24, 30%) instead of other protein feeds. The number of essential amino acids exceeds 4.34% in “Dega” grain compared to other white lupine varieties in Russia. Alkaloid-free grain of “Dega” had no negative effect on cattle physiology.
Feed-stuffs composed of 24% of white lupine grain increased average daily milk yield by 6.0% and protein content — by 7.07% compared to the reference group. Biochemical blood parameters stayed within physiological standard. The experiment revealed no significant difference in phosphorus, alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, urea and carotene contents, confirming the sufficient supply of essential nutrients and vitamins to cow organism.
