The French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) is a unique non-centralized research system, closely interacting with other organizations and institutes. It is rated first in Europe and second in the world in terms of the research aimed at quality and healthy food, agricultural competitiveness and sustainability, as well as environment protection and improvement. INRA possesses sufficient material and technical resources and a steady interdisciplinary basis in life sciences, as well as in ecological, social and economic studies.

УДК: 631.51:631.8:633.16

Plant mineral nutrition and crop forecrops are among the factors of increasing the grain quality. As a result of the carried-out four-year research it is shown that on the alkaline chernozem of the Kama region in the Republic of Tatarstan it is possible to obtain the planned productivity of the Timerhkan variety of barley, dependent on the nutrition background and forecrops.

Durnev G. I., Yatchuk P. V., Izmalkova E. Yu. Infl uence of desiccants on soybean yield and grain quality in Orel region

14

УДК: 635.655:631.5

The rates and timings for desiccants’ application on soybean are determined. It is concluded that desiccants should be applied earlier than it was recommended before (at bean browning on the middle and lower parts of the plants, and grain moisture being 45 %). Th e should be sprayed when the lower leaves become yellow and the grain moisture is 65 %. In that case direct combining harvest in the Orel region is possible by the end of August.

Keywords: desiccants, soybean, grain moisture, Reglon, Tornado, productivity, protein, fat.
