• • • Energy and protein value of gramineous after-feed during winter grazing by Yakut horses

The article deals with energy and protein contents of gramineous swards, grazed by Yakut horses, in the Central Yakutia. After-feed productivity of natural swards made up 0.22 t green mass ha-1. After cutting and hay harvesting (August,14–18) grass productivity amounted to 0.6 t ha-1, exceeding natural swards by 63.3%. Gramineous sward (smooth brome + wild rye) was predominantly green and contained over 75% smooth brome “Khaptagayskiy”, 20% — wild rye “Amginskiy” and 5 % — weeds; sward showing high nutrient content. Natural and sown swards were tested for productivity and nutritional value, basing on nutrient digestibility.  Sown grass had high nutritional value, exceeding natural sward in crude protein by 6.5%, crude fat — by 1.8%, crude ash — by 3.5%. However crude fiber and nitrogen-free extractives were lower by 6.4 and 5.4%, respectively. The experiment revealed significant high coefficients of organic matter digestibility (57.28 ± 0.65%), crude protein (66.42 ± 0.13%) and crude fat (82.45 ± 1.1 %) for sown aftergrowth (Р ≥ 0,95). Digestible protein content made up 92.5 ± 2.33 g kg-1 of dry matter, significantly exceeding natural sward (48.5 ± 4.56 g) by 47.56% (Р≥ 0,99).
